Mrs. McGill’s Announcement
Mrs. McGill Announces Retirement as St. Joe’s Principal
Dear MCS Faculty, Staff, Students, Families, and Friends,
After months of discernment, I write to notify you of my decision to retire from my current position as Principal of St. Joseph School, effective following the completion of the 2021-2022 academic year. I came to this decision after much prayer and guidance and I feel it is best for me and for St. Joseph School.
When I was invited to join the incredible legacy of Missoula Catholic Schools in 2017, I was humbled and excited to join the strong tradition of excellence. I envisioned myself staying at St. Joe’s much longer than five years. The past 2 ½ years of my tenure as Principal have been unprecedented, both in my career specifically and more broadly in the field of education. I can confidently say that I have led, sacrificed, and given whole-heartedly to build and bind the community and return St. Joseph School to being a leader in Catholic school education. I have given 200% to this role, which is what is required of a school leader in order to attain a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in education.
I strongly believe that all schools thrive with new vision and leadership. It is time for St. Joseph School to have a newly energized leader with new strengths and passions to take the school to the next level. In partnership with the exceptional SJS faculty and staff, the future is bright and the school is ready for this next era of growth and continued work towards excellence.
I am grateful to have worked alongside each of you- students, faculty, staff, parents, guardians, and friends. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you! I have grown professionally and personally and this community has become an important facet of my life. Although I will be retiring from traditional school leadership, I will continue in my role as WCEA Commissioner, assisting Montana schools with their accreditation process and continued cycle of growth. I offer any assistance I can provide to ensure this transition is successful and positive for the St. Joseph School community. I will always hold this community in my deepest regard and my ongoing prayers.
In Christ’s Peace,
Christina Vierra McGill
